Sous les ailes… la nature
HOP! Biodiversity A series of biological surveys by scientists in collaboration with volunteer staff are once again being carried out as part of the National Biodiversity Strategy, involving some 18 partners (HOP! and Air France, the French Civil Aviation Authority, the National Museum of Natural History, Air Corsica and 13 airport hubs). Participatory science protocols for hundreds of hectares of protected semi-natural grasslands (an ecosystem that is now quite rare in Western Europe) have been established, yielding over 5,000 pieces of observational data, including 166 bird species and 32 wild orchid species. These results highlight the richness of the sites. This unique program brings together environment and industry.
