Music on stage Since it opened in 1913, the Théâtre des Champs-Élysées has undoubtedly been one of the greatest venues for opera, song, dance and orchestral music. Seating 1,900, it offers audiences memorable performances in an exceptional setting. The 2017-18 season will feature 200 events, including The Barber of Seville directed by Laurent Pelly, Dialogues des Carmélites by Olivier Py, Orphée et Eurydice by Robert Carsen, the L.A. Dance Project of Benjamin Millepied, Nefes by Pina Bausch and Nijinsky by John Neumeier, and such musicians as Zubin Mehta, Teodor Currentzis, Cecilia Bartoli, Renée Fleming, Philippe Jaroussky, Juan Diego Flórez, Rolando Villazón, Roberto Alagna, Natalie Dessay with Michel Legrand, Pretty Yende, Grigory Sokolov, Evgeny Kissin, together with many others.
